WHOO HOO!

Doug got his airline confirmation today!  He will be home Oct 12 and go back Nov 11.  I am so excited.  I told him to bring suitcases full of scarves and silk!  He has plenty of fall clothes here.  Sure does not need them in Saudi.   We are going to do some traveling (including seeing that Grandson!)

He is going to try to find something in the States but his contract does not expire until Feb/2011.  He has to decide by Nov 15th if he will sign for another year.  With 9.6% unemployment in our area I am afraid he will have sign for another year.  But we will see.

Doug's 50th Birthday Party

Welcome my blogger friends to a huge surprise for me.  My sister not only got the pictures from Doug's 50th birthday developed in the same year as his birthday but in the same decade!  I am in shock and of course I had to share them with you!  We had the party at my Mom's home.  This is Doug and my sister's husband.

Does this cake qualify for Cake Wrecks?  It is creepy to me.  Those are supposed to be

balloons.

We set it up buffet style with chairs and trays throughout.

NO WAY!!!

Welcome my fellow blogger friends. I have such an exciting post today. The above picture is my husband and his daughter at a local hockey game. The reason it is exciting is this. She lives in Texas, we live in Georgia. She called me Monday with a wonderful idea. She was going to drive to Georgia and surprise him. Talk about an exciting week. We planned a surprise 50th birthday party and huge visit from her and grandson Remi!

The hardest part was keeping it a secret. Especially when he would say, Jeanette why do you want to do that? It is crazy. It was all worth it when she walked in the door holding the baby. He could only cry and scream NO WAY, NO WAY!

Back to the picture. While they are watching a hockey game, guess what I am doing? YUP. Babysitting Remi. Fun does not begin to describe it. He is so beautiful. I do not know how to do the whole picture thing so this is an old one

When I get the pictures from the party I will post them. But I have a favor to ask. What should he call me? Nanny, Omi, Mannette? (Mannette is a nickname a precious one gave me).
