A Saudi Tablescape

Welcome to the 99th Tablescape Thursday, courtesy of our gracious hostess Susan.  I am posting this for my dear husband who is living alone in Saudi Arabia.  I have to give him credit.  I just can't bring myself to do a tablescape for just one!  You have to realize he is living in a furnished villa but bought these pretty dishes himself.
He tells me he 'stole' these flowers so instead of creating an international incident, I will leave it at that.

I have no details about the patterns or where these items were purchased but I can just about guarantee that he would be serving himself chicken.  Every time we talk and I ask him what he is cooking it is always chicken.
I don't really know what this is but it is pretty.
A close up of his pretty plate.
Considering what he had to work with I think he did a great job.  To be 10,000 miles away and still come up with such a pretty table.......awesome!  I am proud of you sweetie.  Next time you will have to share one of your chicken recipes!

Thank you Susan for hosting another awesome party, I know Doug would love it if you would leave him a comment.

Incredible Tablescapes

Welcome all my blogger friends.  I have missed you so.  Thank you for all your support through my difficult time.  I want to share some tablescapes with you.  My sister is a very lucky woman.  She has 40 hours in each day.  I figured that out several years ago.  It is the only way she can do all she does!  It is the only explanation.  She runs 2 successful businesses, is very active in her church, a wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend to so many.  One of her many causes is the American Cancer Society.  She hosted a brunch fundraiser for the Cancer Society on Saturday at her church.  The theme was a a cruiseship.  She did two tables, this one is the captains table.
Notice the dolphin ice sculpture!  I thought it was a brillant idea. The red cape code Avon pieces are from our mom's collection   i
These are lovely as well but I don't know who to give credit to.
I don't know who did this table but I thought it was lovely.
Maybe not a table scape but a cutie pie!
Another lovely table but I don't know who to give credit to.My sister did this table also and I just love it.  She borrowed some things from me.
The dishes are another find from CEBO's booth at the antique mall.  If my husband is reading this I have had them forever.  If he is not reading this I got them for a song a couple of weeks ago.  She has such cool things in her booth.  You will be seeing these dishes again.  The bunny chair covers I bought at Lillian Vernon many years ago.  I bought the gazebos at QVC on clearanceEverything is so precious.  The silent auction was a great sucess!
Now what would a cruise themed brunch be without entertainment.....Elvis of course!
My beatiul sister and one of her precious friends.  I love you sista!

Well what do you think my blogger friends, pretty cool huh?

My first Tablescape Thursday and Goodbye to an old Friend

I am so excited to be joining Susan, our gracious hostess from Between Naps on the Porch for Table scape Thursday. It is my first official participation. When we moved back to Georgia we purchased this table and chairs just to make do. I never cared for it. Good bye table and chairs!

Place mats and Napkins - QVC on clearance

Flatware - HSN - Colin Cowie

Glasses - K Mart

Soup Mug - Bed, Bath and Beyond - Six years ago

Plates and bread plates - QVC = 15 years ago

Candles - QVC Candle Impressions with timer

Wreaths - QVC - David Shindler

Wreaths on back of chair - Dollar Store

Although the wreath centerpieces are Christmas Wreaths, I think they look Autumnal . I am planning french onion soup which I will be featuring on Foodie Friday.

Thank you so much for stopping in. Don't forget to stop in and visit all the other table scapes with the lovely Susan at Between Naps on the Porch.

I would love it if you would leave a comment and check out my other posts.

My First Tablescape post

Here is the final look. I did change the napkins to a 100% cotton orange with a pumpkin napkin ring. The runner is a tapestry type material and is very subtle. The cutlery is Colin Cowell. The little wooden birds my precious husband bought me at an estate sale. I have canning jars on each place setting because I am serving soup in them. I thought it would be fun. Oh the dishes are from QVC. This is my first tablescape post. I take terrible pictures so please bear with me and I will try to get better. The little scarecrow on the swing is another find from my precious husband. The salt and pepper shaker are from Silvestri.
I would so love it if you would leave a comment on any thing about the blog that my precious friend Kathy from Life in the Slow Lane designed and set up for me. I just love it. When you check out her blog notice that beautiful child on that big 'ole pig! That is Kathy when she was young. I so love that image. Again thank you Kathy!

Beautiful handmade tablecloth

Look at this beautiful tablecloth. Handmade, this picture does not do it justice. It was given to me by the sweetest lady in the world. We were having soup this night and in the backgroud is a lovely swan soup tureen . I will be back soon to post some tablescapes.
T
The napkin rings are acrylic with built in salt and pepper shakers. I know I am going to have to do something Christmasy so I can do something great with that soup tureen. Isn't this tablecloth incredible? Please leave me comments if you came by for a visit.
