I am giving my most precious pretend daughter a bridesmaid luncheon in May. I had these imprinted invitations ordered and paid for. I have not been able to reach the people in three weeks. This morning I tried calling them and the phone is disconnected.
Does anyone have any suggestions for an extra special invitation. My budget is $7.00 an invitation. Help me please.
Oh, I forgot to tell you before.....gas in Saudi is 60 cents a gallon. Can you imagine?
Please put any links in your comment or email me directly Gafoodies706@gmail.com. I know I can count on you. She wants an old fashioned southern luncheon. Help! Oh her colors are brown and green, they have fancy names but bottom line is brown and green. Jennifer from Gordon Gossip has been helping me with ideas. Check out her blog, it is incredible.
Thanks for any help you can give me!
ETA- I know $7.00 is a lot per invitation but she is close as to a daughter to me. When I lost my own daughter in 1995, I knew planning a wedding would never be part of my life. This precious one has given the opportunity by allowing me to host her bridesmaid luncheon and I am on cloud nine about. My wonderful husband gave me a generous budget to work with.

Sorry, we printed both of my DIL's wedding and shower invitations, they were beautiful. I used a card program I have.

Most of the craft stores sell card stock you can print on the computer. Or try checking out spots on the internet? Or ask a teenager....Is there someone in town who prints? Okay, that's all my ideas. Be sure and let us know what you do.
ReplyDeleteJeanette-7 dollars an invitation??? I must be a real cheapskate! :). Do you have a Happi Names store near you? I have found darling invitations there. Also, my daughter just ordered some from a website and already has them. They are darling and I know their budget was not big. Let me know if you want me to get it(the website). Michael's also has great cards to print on the computer (but the brown and green might be tricky).
ReplyDeleteI am like Susan ... $7 an invitation? We have several local gift shops around town who do quick turn around with their invitations and I was looking at Swoozies in Birmingham on Saturday and they have very cute invitations. Maybe you have a local shop. On-line are some very cute invitations. Let us know!

I wish our gas was 60 cents a gallon :)
$7.00 an invitation ?!?!? Way out of my budget also. Like Susan suggested, See if there is a Happi Names store near you, or stationary specialty shops. There are beautiful cards out there. You can bye them already made, and all you have to do is fill in the general info.. Getting certain color combinations could be a problem. Or like others suggested, get the invites. and have someone print them on their computer if you don't have a program for that. Check local print shops, office supply places, etc. to see who would print them and the charge per card.
ReplyDeleteMeant to add. One setback to an individual doing them for them, you would probably need to check the price of the ink cartridges for their particular printer. Some of them are very pricey. Then you would be better off to buy pre-made.
ReplyDeleteJeanette dear,
ReplyDeleteAre you out your money from the ones you first ordered? I so sorry, I know how much you are looking forward to hosting this event. Have you tried looking on ESTY? There is a huge variety of handmade items that may work for you. Wish I was closer so I could be more of a help!
Tell Doug hello!

Hi Jeanette - I emailed you a link and some ideas that might help.
ReplyDeleteI just did a quick google search and this one came up twice. I don't know how much she charges though.

Have you called the BBB and reported them? I hope you get this figured out. I know how much this means to you.
How awful that the store didn't bother to contact you! Me....I would look at www.FineStationery.com and find a pretty design and then order those and have them printed myself. That's what I usually do.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry Jeanette, I am no help. But, looks like others here have some good ideas. I just can't believe that store! Shame on them. I know whatever you find will be just perfect!
