Some pictures from Saudi

Welcome my blogger friends! Doug sent me some images from Saudi and I wanted to share them. This is the women's market. It is amazing to me that women still have to wear those berkas. And that they have to have a separate market. The things Doug about how the women are treated just make me so angry. This is the watertank in Saudi City.

This is ones of Doug's most exciting finds. He loves ice hockey and to see a skating rink in the local mall was so thrilling for him.

Now you won't believe this one. What do you see here? Yup pretty flowers. What does Doug see? First let me tell you that when Susan at Between Naps on the Porch

turns on the table scape addict in someone, it does not turn off easily. Now this is what Doug, my precious husband who is 8,000 miles away from home said this is a picture of. "Flowers for Tablescapes!" Yes Susan has turned on my husband's tablescape addiction. LOL

This baskin robbins treat is what Doug had on his birthday. Today he went to Tony Roma's for dinner. He has more american restaurants near him than we do in our little Georgia town.

  3. Wow, that was interesting! I have been as far as Turkey, but not to SA. I think the whole culture thing is very difficult for us as American women, at least for me. Thanks for stopping by:-)

  5. Jeanette:

How amazing that he's thinking of tablescapes all the way over there! You obviously have a very special relationship.

I'm sure it's not easy having him so far away, but hang in there.

  9. One of the bigger Malls has a ski lift in it and you can rent the clothing etc. It is a totally amazing area and let's face it they certainly have the funds to build the biggest and the best over there. I am enjoying the photos so thank you for sharing.

  12. That's so funny that Doug hasn't forgotten about tablescapes. Sounds like he's doing fine. I'm glad he found an ice rink. That's too bad about those poor women. Thanks for sharing, Jeanette.

  14. It's a whole different world where your dear husband is right now! (So cool that he remembered about tablescapes!) My granddaughter spent two years in Jordan in the Peace Corp but there were no shopping centers there as she was stationed in a tiny mountain village. She is back in the states and in grad school now at Johns Hopkins so we are happy to have her home! It was an amazing experience, however!

  16. They have Tony Roma's in Saudi Arabia??? When my husband and I were first married 25 years ago, we would always order delivery from Tony Roma's in Miami whenever we were celebrating anything! Also, I can't be believe the women have a seperate market!
