What to do?

I never wished I could use a camera as much as when I got up this morning. I even picked it up and tried to figure out how to turn it on. No such luck. This is what I walked into this morning. Josh, who is usually so good had torn up a pillow. I know I miss Doug. The dogs miss him also. They have gone overboard in the missing department. In the almost 2 weeks since he has been gone, they have started fighting like no body's business. Keelie will not let Josh into the bedroom. In fact Josh acts like she doesn't even like me anymore.

Any thoughts about what I can do? My puggle (Keelie) will be 2 in April and our lab/shep mix (Josh) will be 1 the end of this month. Help!

Edited To Add - The above picture is a stock photo. I can't take pictures and would have loved to share with my blogger friends what I saw, this was close.

  2. Uh Oh! Sorry - no advice on what to do. Do you have a kennel you can put one of them in when they act up?

  3. Jeanette,
Oh honey, I'm so sorry.... Looks like Keelie is playing dominate doggie and Josh is reacting in a negative way. I wonder what Caesar would do? Do you have a "job" that you can give Josh? Get the paper( hmmm but not chew it) or Can you handle Josh and walk together to get the mail from the mail box. Oh I don't know, but I wish I could fix it and make it all better for you. I'm sure you all are missing Doug and will take some time to figure it all out. Keep us up to date...Dee Dee

  5. Oh, that is a scream! But I sympathize, truly I do. I have no solution. This is something for the dog whisperer. Maybe you can reward each of them and make them both feel special. Poor Josh!

  6. What a mess, I really do not know how to discipline a dog when they destroy. My pug only acted up when she was a puppy and it was short lived......

  7. I do know that dogs sense when there is a change in the house. Mine is usually more clingy when my husband isn't around. I would guess it will just take time for them to get used to the new arrangement.

  8. We have been through it with our now deceased beloved Dreyfuss! We just simply chucked it and cleaned up the mess. We loved him too much! Maybe you might have to go "Ceasar" on your dogs!

  9. Oh my....I so love this image. I would love to have seen what your pup did! {flashbacks to our dog days} I guess dogs sense change and act out just like us humans. Hope things get better. oxoxo

  10. LOL...but so sorry. They do sense our emotions. Are they both "fixed?" Sometimes that can cause problems, too. Or just watch the Dog Whisperer on TV. :) Hope things get better.

  11. Goodness! Do you have enough pillows to last while your dear husband is away? When I was a girl we used to have a dog who would destroy something of ours when we made her mad -- and she was always very specific to get something that belonged to whomever she was mad at! That's a German dog for you! Thanks for your sweet visit to my Irish tablescape today!

  13. Oh Jeanette, I'm sorry, I have no advice for you! I'm afraid I am having my own issue with a 2 year old little girl! Last night she was up in her room "Playing" but, was being very quiet. First sign of danger! So, i went up to see what she was doing and she got ahold of a new box of pads and tore into all of them and had pads (with wings, she thinks those are the coolest...arghh!) stuck to everything in her room she could reach! I was pulling them of the dresser, bed, nightstand, rocking horse...you name it! Oh, I was so mad but, what was worse is that at the same time it was funny to see all these sanitary pads stuck to everything in site!

  14. Oh Jeannette, I can feel ya, but sorry that is tooooo funny. Our Norwegian Elkhound is just as tempermental. He'll tear into my stuff, but leaves Jim's alone. I have no sage advise or magic words to help, but if you find something will ya let me know..I'm tired of finding my 'lost' magazines stuffed under the bed!...
IN SHREDS!! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm glad you liked it so much you forwarded it to your hubby. I hope you stop by often!
